Tenets represent a faith's most important rites, rituals and traditions. Each faith has exactly three.

The piety cost to choose a tenet when creating a new faith depends on what religion it belongs to. The cost of the tenet will also be discounted by 50% if it is present in the original faith.

The following tenets are available to all religions:

Human sacrifice both voluntary and involuntary bring us closer to the divine. It is customary and virtuous for one to volunteer to sacrifice oneself in ceremony, just as it is virtuous to sacrifice those who have committed unforgivable crimes against the Gods.

We are all born in blood. We survive by the blood of our livestock, our family, our foes. It is only natural that the gods demand their fair share.

Syncretism[edit | edit source]

All faiths can pick a Syncretism tenet, which borrow at least one virtue and sin from another religion, allow the faith to use artifacts restricted to that religion, grants +30  Opinion mutually with all characters and counties following it, and makes their faiths unable to be considered or consider the current faith Evil. Each faith can have only one Syncretism tenet.

Eastern Syncretism will consider eastern faiths astray instead of hostile and vice versa.
